Guerra Después De La Fiesta – Hierro Muere [LP]

Behind these acronyms (acronym for War After The Party) is a real (rough) diamond of the national psychedelic. This mysterious Oviedo collective landed on the record world with a loud and indefinable self-released debut. Wrapped in an avant-garde aesthetic (between crust-punk and Soviet constructivism), the content was a strange cocktail of acid-folk, concrete music and dark orientalism. With their primitive intensity and their torn rope lines they manage to make us partakers of their particular carnival of wayward souls. Like apocalyptic minstrels, their songs seem to alert us to the dangers of boredom and alienation from modern life. Spectral mantras in which disparate sounds (from sitar to synthetic reverbs) become hypnotic, evocative. That constant concern is reflected once again in their most recent reference, which positions the band as one of the most inspiring on the current scene.
