The blazing 80ies-dark-metal tune, recorded by Luigi Scuteri (Tower Hill Studios) and mixed by Jacob Hansen (Hansen Studios Denmark), features a new band member: guitarist Roberto “Bob Brown” Bruno!

The album is produced by platinum-selling Finnish record producer Anssi Kippo (Children of Bodom, Hanna Pakarinen, Teräsbetoni) who had this to add about the track.

“From the very first demo version, this song stood out by having something magical! Usually, with a song like this, you’d stack a huge wall of guitars, record dozens of backing vocals and at least as many keyboards. On Dark Energy, we took a completely opposite approach and ended up having a wall of just two rhythm guitars, only one keyboard and a single vocal track. With a song of this magnitude, any additional tracks would simply have decreased its magic.”

The music video for “Dark Energy” was directed by Ville Juurikkala and brings the band into a whole new light. Enthusiasm for Serpico’s music paved the way for the collaboration with Juurikkala who is best known for his works with Slash, Steven Tyler, HIM, Michael Monroe, 69 Eyes, Apocalyptica, Nightwish and many more.

“Serpico has some great authentic and rough rock’n’roll both as human beings and in music. I couldn’t pass up on the opportunity to work with them!” adds Juurikkala.

Italian groove metal band SIX DEGREES released their debut album “No One Is Innocent” this past November via Rockshots Records. The album’s closing track is a cover version of one of the band’s favorite movie theme songs “The Power of Love” made famous by Huey Lewis and The News.

“What more could we say about this song? Everyone knows it! There is no person on earth who has not seen “Back to the Future”! It has always been one of my favorite adventure movies. When Marty gets on stage for the audition with his band (Pinheads) and the talent scout says “I’m afraid you’re just too darn loud … next, please!”, I always get angry! I wish I was there to smash the guitar on his head! Ahahahahaha. Well, this is our metal version. Just enjoy! it’s a great song! It really pumps you up!”

SIX DEGREES was created by Luca Correnti (guitar and vocals) and singer Valentina Aleo. The name of the band is clearly inspired by the sociological theory (developed for the first time in 1929 by the Hungarian writer Karinthy) about the so-called “six degrees of separation”.

Their debut album “No One Is Innocent” is a record that brings together all the creative aspects of the band. It’s an aggressive, simple, direct groove-death metal, but filled with melody. All of this gives the compositions a dual-purpose appeal, with a mix of violence and impact but also catchy melodies, thanks to Luca’s scratchy growls and Valentina’s sweet and effective vocals.

“The story of a getaway indeed, of a man from his memories and a woman from people judgment. It’s a song the celebrate freedom from prejudices. The woman in the song finally gets her freedom as he found her along the way, on a pale and sleepless night as he was driving close to the side street where she used to sell her body. It is a causal gathering. She had a child and was trying to have normal life, to love her baby and be the best mother she could: but people talking are blades for her soul and she has no choice until he takes her away from those quicksands and carries her whole
life along with him, for a new day. Because they belong to their lives”.

The band was formed in 2018 by Dave Brown and Stefano “Ghigas” Calvagno, both known for their roles in the progressive metal band Metatrone. Ivan Newton is filling the line-up behind the drums and percussions.

Nefesh Core takes inspiration from the New Wave and Dark Music of the 80s as well as mixing typical elements coming from the melodic hard rock and classic metal with 90s Gothic Metal influence. One of the main features of the project is that Dave himself is in charge of the main vocals and keyboard parts.
