“Who Keeps Score” is taken from South African stoner rock kings Ruff Majik and is taken from the bands highly anticipated album “The Devils Cattle”. The track also the first to feature new member, multi-instrumentalist, and producer Evert Snyman (Pollinator) on lead vocals. The animated video is a collaborative effort between Lllewellyn Van Eeden and long-time illustrator of the band, Annemarie Buchner.

The idea was to illustrate and animate an enticing storyline about a band of vampire hunters that bit off a little more than they could chew. It’s got church burnings, zombies, high speed car chases, bad dancing – everything you’d want out of a B-movie, jam packed into 3’30”. “Vampires are at large I tell you, Vampires! Yeah. No seriously, some people are just so god damn draining. The only way to beat them is to write a loud and fast song and jam it out with some friends.” Remarks songwriter, vocalist, and guitarist Johni Holiday.

South African psychedelic stoner rock quartet Ethyl Ether reveal the video for their new single, Under The Milky Way. Originally released in 1998 by Australian alternative rockers The Church, the bands version is taken from their latest album ‘Chrome Neon Jesus’.

The band formed just over 3 years with regular shows across South Africa as well as releasing 2 albums The Pleasure Room and Museum Of Human Error including a live EP Into Chaos.
The band’s latest album, Chrome Neon Jesus sees the end of a two-year labour of love, featuring a tougher sound and psychedelic textures.

Chrome Neon Jesus explores the darker, grittier side of life and reflects their experiences and observations on everyday living.

Our sound is created on down-tuned, heavy guitars using vintage sounding amps, pedals, and vocal effects, this being the mainstay for the thick and dense sound. Our roots are traceable to the 60’s, 70’s and even some of the 80s. Most of our inspiration is drawn from modern fuzz rock, the sounds of which were pioneered by early 90’s bands like Fu Manchu, Kyuss, and later Queens of The Stone Age, Truck Fighters and The Eagles of Death Metal.

All music written and played to be enjoyed from the drivers seat. Whether you’re driving through the desert, cracking a cold one, lighting a long one or just parking at home, take a ride with Monstroid.
