Today, New York four-piece cumgirl8 share the new single “cursed angel,” the third offering from their forthcoming EP phantasea pharm, out 18th Auguts via 4AD.

‘cursed angel’ is a whimsical dance with insanity, with repeating hook, “I feel like I’m losing my mind.” Speaking on the song, cumgirl8 says: ‘‘’cursed angel’ is about feeling like you’re slipping out of reality; it’s uncontrollable and sometimes you can’t contain it. If you don’t fight it, the outcome can be positive.“
Recorded, mixed, mastered entirely to analog tape, phantasea pharm is released on 18th August, and follows last year’s standalone single “dumb bitch” and EP’s cumgirl8 (2020) and RIPcumgirl8 (2021).

‘cursed angel’ follows the hypnotic and erotic ‘gothgirl1’, co-written with Nick Launay (Kate Bush, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, The Slits), and the energetic “cicciolina,” a tribute to the Hungarian-Italian pornstar turned politician of the same name. The single also arrives ahead of their headlining show in New York City tomorrow where they’ll be playing the grand opening of Baker Falls (formerly The Pyramid Club). Grab tickets here.
This will be the band’s first headlining show in the States following their support slots with Le Tigre and their EU/UK tour earlier this summer where they played Primavera, The Great Escape, London Calling, and more. cumgirl8 will then make their return overseas later this Summer joining the line-up for Green Man, Core Festival, and Pitchfork Paris.
