Written and vocally performed by Melt drummer J.J. Young, “Problem Child” is a hard-hitting villain’s anthem — a tribute to someone who’s a bad person, knows it and doesn’t care. With vocal style inspired by the work of Led Zeppelin and Rival Son’s Jay Buchanan, a Fleetwood Mac-inspired bridge, and an outro riff that pays homage to the White Stripes, “Problem Child” combines inspiration from iconic artists with the band’s unique style to showcase their affinity for big ’70s arena rock.

I am the problem child
With the wild eye
Survived by the broken bastard
Beacon of our lives
I break the glass and steal your envy
I am the problem child
I break the seal
And live to steal your living prize
Without a simple secret
Saving face you recognize
There is blood surrounding
Where we should be drowning
Sweet and softly they repeat
It fell too far, I feel the heat
Sweet and softly they repeat
It fell to far, it can’t be beat
I am disguised
To recognize and paralyze
Our mind it weaves a web
And won’t regress into demise
