IV Atonal is a musical project based in Florence, Italy that involves and has involved many musicians and artists.
Reflecting over 30 years of continuous sonic and conceptual transformation, IV Atonal was founded in 1993 as ‘Atonal’ first and ‘I Vecchi Atonal’ later, evolving into a unique blend of Sludge, Progressive Doom Metal, IDM, and Techno, deeply rooted in esoteric and alchemical themes.

The latest album, ‘Everything You Know Is Wrong’, continues this legacy, maintaining the band’s signature elements—such as the use of multiple vocalists and heavy yet catchy riffs—while also exploring new directions. Notably, the album incorporates microtonal techniques achieved through baritone guitars and computer-assisted arrangements, showcasing a bold fusion of tradition and innovation.
