Me and My Shadow is the 5th studio album from the rock power trio Dirty Sound Magnet. The
band has carved its own path, rising from an unknown Swiss indie act to an internationally recognized force thanks to the uniqueness of their sound and their mesmerizing two-hour live performances — full of groove, virtuosity, and emotional power.
While the previous album Dreaming in Dystopia (2023) was a journey into psychedelic folk, proving once again that the band defies categorization, the new record highlights their explosive
rock’n’roll energy. Dirty Sound Magnet possess a distinctive sonic identity, yet wander freely
through different musical territories: Power of this Song pays tribute to old blues, Dance and Die
is funky as hell, Swimming in Trance is a jazzy psychedelic trip into the afterlife, Dead Inside is
pure power, and Me and My Shadow dives into world-music influences. The heartfelt ballad Long
Drive brings an emotional edge to the album, while Calypso closes the journey with a ten-minute
space-stoner trip.
Despite the richness and variety, the record forms a coherent whole — unmistakably Dirty Sound
Magnet.
The band call their artistic approach Infinite Rock, as they strongly believe that musical possibilities are endless and that music is not a resolved equation, but an ever-expanding universe.
An extensive world tour (Europe, UK, United States, Mexico, Latin America) is planned to support
the release.
