Shannon Rowley is a writer, a singer, a father, a former sailor, a remarkably considerate lover, an occasional elephant trainer, an emotional catastrophe, and once also a preacher whose short but tragic career as a marine biologist ended in a so-called one-stop-shop – something he doesn’t want to discuss any more. All debts have already been paid and responsibility has been borne, so let it be, people. Borders with everything.
Rowley has been writing songs, poems, and prose since he was thirteen years old. In his twenties, he found the reading and everything changed. His religious career ended like a wall and a new gear as a writer and sailor began. After escaping from a ship in Portugal, where he spent a few years in all-world jobs, Rowley ended up in Tampere, Finland, where he still lives today.
Shannon Rowley has worked with numerous musicians over the years Pekko Käpista, Black Motorin, Jouko Hohkon and Jukka Orman through Fuzzy Mamaan. Even a deceased legend Franklin S. Cupford is Rowley’s grandfather on the mother’s side. Well, that’s about it. To be published in April The King Departs is Rowley ‘s debut release, which would not have been born without the producer / musician Matti Salon devotional attitude towards the publication. The album features a wide range of excellent musicians to mention Laura Moisio, Kielo Kärkkäinen and Vera Veiskola in the background songs, Petri Peevo on guitar or Jouko Hohko on bass – and Pekko Käppi plays his famous jouhikko with three songs on the album.
The Kings Departs will be released digitally on April 2022 as well as a limited edition of 250 copies of the vinyl record. An album is also available Black Recordsin online store as a joint purchase of Rowley’s peculiar Say, Have You Heard of the Lambs? with a collection of short stories, a special edition of a hundred copies – and of course Noora Isoeskelin with excellent illustration.
