Ydi is the third track from the new album Kob’ which depicts the second step taken by humanity on its descent into the abyss. In one of the recent interviews Maria explains:
“This song has several levels and it can be interpreted as you like. In general, its concept is a burial, a rite of exorcism over the deceased, who, first and foremost, represents the spiritually dead humanity. Actually, Suhoderets is an old name for a corpse, a dead man, in some Russian hinterlands, it was also a term for a suicidal deceased. And actually, the rite itself, which is described in the song with the words “Get into a pothole, crawl up an oak tree” – is nothing more than ancient ritual games held after the funeral of the deceased. It was believed that the higher a person participating in these games climbs an oak tree, the higher the soul of the deceased will rise after death”
