The six-track live album, titled öfke hediye (“anger is a gift”), explores how society shapes and suppresses the individual. But instead of resignation, BABA SAD channels that tension into dance, noise, and cathartic release.
This is not just a record. It’s a shared experience. A snapshot of a night when music became revolt-live, one take, with nothing to hide.
BABA SAD is a three-piece band fusing punk rock with dance music.
Known for their intense energy and emotional rawness on stage, the band has quickly earned a place in Istanbul’s alternative scene. Though they’ve only released two singles, they’ve already performed on some of the city’s most prominent underground stages, Kargaart, Dorock XL, Babylon Bomonti, Arkaoda, and Cennet Bahçesi, building a strong connection with the audience.
Comprised of Yağız Nevzat İpek on drums, Efe Sanlav on bass, and Dehan Kılınçarslan on guitar and vocals, the band recorded a live performance at Hayd Studios in May 2023. The event, which featured live visuals by artist Tennx, was captured both sonically and visually, and the band decided to release it just as it was: raw, direct, and unfiltered.
