Hualun (花伦) is a rock band from Wuhan China formed in 2004. Hot off the heels of their latest soundtrack for critically acclaimed documentary “Wuhan Wuhan”, Hualun are releasing “Live By The Sea”. The album consists of their live set by the sea at a festival put on by Beijing club Zhao Dai.

Zhao Dai was opened to bring a different electronic sound to the clubs in Beijing and in response to the covid blues felt across the country, an electronic music festival was held at Aranya on the Bohai Sea. Bringing the kind of party you find at a club to a three day festival resulted in an electric atmosphere.

Pressed on blue marble vinyl and released for pre-order on April 1st, “Live By The Sea” marks the fifth collaboration with the band, based in Shenzhen, and Brighton U.K. based indie label “Crafting Room Recordings”. The deluxe version of the vinyl features an A3 poster, film photograph, glitter stickers and digital downloads of their four previous releases with CRR.

Hualun – “In May 2021, Hualun was invited to attend an electronic music festival at the seaside. The band members met in Beijing and then drove to the Golden Coast, which is over 300 kilometers away from Beijing. Among so many young people who were eager to dance, Hualun played this new material, and experienced a magical afternoon.”

The record will be available to purchase here from April 1st:
