Investing time, effort and patience in the making of a record is quite often the very thing that will make all the difference in the world. A proper brewing works in the benefit of a fiery rock n roll album in a similar manner as to a refined liquor. The story of K2 is a tale of such a process.
Beginning their course in a city of the Greek north, the formation of this band in 2013 produced an EP titled “At mini P’s” the following year and hooked them into making heavy music for life. A circuit of live shows shaped their craft, while sharing stages with the top of the local heroes such as Planet Of Zeus, Dendrites, Void Droid and Potergeist, while at the same time setting up the tracks that would become the debut album in hand.
A few years in the making, “Sta Giannena”, a reference to their hometown in the heart of Epirus is now ready and steaming, eager to be released and take its place among the ever fruitful Greek heavy rock scene. All the atmosphere of the southern groove metal, merged with 90’s urban metal brings out an energetic character of a new band who has been in the shadows for far too long.
Balancing dirty, raunchy riffs with melodic outbursts, all within a solid footing of a rhythm section in a battle to gain momentum, makes out for an album ready and willing to stand out.
The digital release will be out on December 18th and a physical CD copy will be made available in early 2021.
