“Libido et Mors” is the new single by italian melodic death metal band Karmian, taken from the upcoming concept album “Horror Vacui”.
The track is the band’s first song entirely sung in italian and represents a pivotal moment within the album’s narrative.
Inspired by the historical case of Sister Maria Luisa Ridolfi and the Sant’Ambrogio della Massima convent scandal, the song explores repressed desire, distorted faith and the abuse of spiritual power, where devotion turns into control and silence into violence.
Musically, “Libido et Mors” blends ferocious melodic death metal, dark atmospheres and cinematic tension, embodying the core theme of “Horror Vacui”: the void that corrodes the human soul from within.
