“Erase” is the first single of Keening’s debut forthcoming EP “The Yellow Portal” to be released in late 2021.
Keening started as a splinter project by The Raudive’s singer Marc Atkinson, it was completed in collaboration with Brandon Jacobs (Neils Children) and producer James Aparicio (Credits include Depeche Mode, Mogwai, Spiritualised, Nick Cave).
“The Yellow Portal” takes you on a sonic journey through sickness, mental illness to redemption via a witches brew of references from Charlotte Perkins and Robert W Chambers to Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark, Have A Nice Life and Joy Division.
“The Yellow Portal” is more than just an album, its a cursed gateway into a paranoid world of cosmic and sonic fear.
“The Yellow Portal” was created during the first lockdown of the COVID 19 pandemic.
During that time a member of the group worked in suicide prevention.
The music was inspired by the experiences of that time and therefore profits from the release will be donated to The Samaritans and SOS Amitee.
