“The Jester Duplicity” is the fastest song on the entire album alternating blast beats with extremely harmonious refrains, while in the verses the broken rhythms of guitar, bass and drums weigh down the sound in full Marble style.
The lyrics are based on the southern Italian medieval poem “Rosa Fresca Aulentissima” by Cielo d’Alcamo. The date of composition is between 1231 and 1250, in medieval Sicily. The work is a dialogue, a contrast between a suitor (enterprising and resolute), played by a court jester, and a woman who, at first, flaunts towards him an attitude of sufficient superiority but then yields to the flattery of the suitor.
We maintained the contrast between the lady and the jester thanks to guest singer Ivan Adami (Stranger Vision) whose scratchy, melodic timbre perfectly complemented Eleonora’s choruses.
The lyric video was created by Canadian artist Emerson Tanaka (Ancient Machine, and Motion graphics designer).
