Irish musician Maria Somerville shared her second album and debut project on 4AD, Luster, in April. The otherworldly yet grounded record, including atmospheric and whirring dreamgaze singles “Spring” and “Garden”, channels her experiences on the bank of the Corrib in her native Connemara, Ireland and pays homage to the sonic tapestry woven by classic 4AD collective This Mortal Coil. In the short time since its release, the critically acclaimed record has seen a Best New Music accolade from Pitchfork and a glowing Guardian review, alongside highly touted sold-out shows in New York and London amidst other buzzy headline dates across the UK/EU/US.
Further celebrating Luster, Somerville has now announced a new run of North American headline shows, set to begin in September with support from Chanel Beads and James K at select dates. Her forthcoming trip to the States also includes a series of festival appearances, including Sound & Gravity (Chicago, IL) and Making Time (Philadelphia, PA), marking her first time performing in these territories. Alongside these new North American dates, Somerville has also just been added to the 2025 Pitchfork Music Festival London line-up (slotted for November 4-8).
