Routine’s latest album, Faded Moments, marks a new chapter in the journey of Routine, led by Ukrainian musician and producer Anton Koba, who has been living in Germany since 2022. The album reimagines the sounds of forgotten melodies, blending post-punk, darkwave, indie, and alternative elements with vintage synthesizers, electric guitars, and modern digital production. This distinct style has been a hallmark of Anton Koba’s work since he began his musical career in 2020. Initially, he released songs in Russian but withdrew most of them after Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine. He briefly experimented with Ukrainian-language songs, releasing three tracks, before ultimately focusing on English-language material following his relocation to Germany. As a result, a large part of his audience is now based in the United States.
In 2021, Routine released the debut album Secret Window on vinyl, blending post-punk and Detroit techno influences alongside analog synthesizers and electric guitars. Since moving to Germany in late 2022, one of his most successful tracks, “Feeling Low,” has garnered significant attention, reaching around 500,000 streams on Spotify by January 2025. With Faded Moments, Anton Koba continues to explore new sonic landscapes, creating a deeply emotional album that bridges the past and present, while connecting with a diverse global audience.
