SÖNUS is a genre-blending space/stoner/psych/prog/heavy rock/metal project out of San Jose, California Inspired by the mystical sounds of Hawkwind, Black Sabbath, Motörhead, Monster Magnet, The Stooges, Pink Floyd, and Captain Beyond (to name but a few). SÖNUS blends raw heavy rock fire and fury with a heady dose of psychedelic space rock to make you feel like you’re blasting headlong through the cosmos. Peer into the blazing soul of a man possessed by rock and roll! Become an Argonaut of inner-space on this cosmic dream-quest to “Worlds Undreamed Of,” the brand new, debut 33 minute EP that is ready and waiting to blow minds and crush skulls! All music and lyrics were written, recorded, and performed in his room by David Wachsman himself (with guest backing vocals on the title track from his beautiful and talented girlfriend Jaymi McGinn) in quarantine, going for a sonic spice-melange of stoner rock, space rock, 70s prog, and heavy metal. The vocals were recorded in a DIY vocal booth constructed of cardboard boxes and duct tape with sound panels. Mixed and mastered by Liam Schmid of In The Zone Studios in Austria. The album is Available for purchase on Bandcamp and iTunes.
