The Cosmic Trip Advisors – Preachin’ Blues (2021) (New Single)

When 2020 locked down, The Cosmic Trip Advisors decided to shelve plans for the follow up to Wrong again, Albert… on account of them not being able to rehearse the new songs properly. Instead, the band decided to work up some of their favourite cover versions individually in their own studio with a view to releasing them on vinyl in 2021. That album will be called “Songs In The Key Of Sexy” and will feature tunes by John Lennon, Blind Faith, Bettye Lavette, Freddie King, Merle Haggard and The Rolling Stones…among others.

Preachin’ Blues is the first single to be taken from that album. It is the Cosmics inspired take on Larkin Poe’s 2017 version of the Son House original. It’s a raucous, sexy slice of foot stomping anthemic blues with dirty guitars and filthy Hammond organ kicking out the jams behind Lesley’s sexy snarl. It’s rock ‘n’ roll, with a heart of soul…just like they used to make.
