This is the new recording project of Gary Aubert (DARK MATTER / LEGEND) and Dave Gilbert (DARK MATTER / TREBUCHET).
This project was decided primarily because Gary wanted to play rhythm guitar and write riffs.
This project is also an inhouse one (DARK MATTER) where Dave writes less personal lyrics, telling tales of Demons, Wizards and Witches, Mother Nature, and sneering at the wrongdoers of life.
This is a more full on, doom laden, heavy metal band, as opposed to a progressive project. However…
Dave says (tongue firmly in cheek) “We don’t like to be tied down. We ARE The Lore, and that’s it”!
As mentioned, this is an inhouse project. Alex Perry (DARK MATTER / MYTHRA) is guest lead guitarist and plays for the lads where desired.
Dave says, “Alex is simply the best guitarist I know, and is the nicest guy to work with. He is my brother and nobody connects the same way as he does with my writing. He is the most humble guy and my very special friend. We are blessed to have him sprinkle his magic here”.
This album was going to be a self titled release, but as the writing was flowing and the lads were having a blast, a double length debut was produced.
At over 75 minutes long. it is intended that it should be listened to in two parts. So Revelations I and II was born.
