    Interview with Hackers (Las Palmas)

    MyRockNews spoke with Hackers, Fran Alonso..

    How did Hacker’s emerge?

    The Hacker’s Band emerged in the head of Fran Alonso at the end of 2016 with the desire to create his own songs in the AOR style.

    Fran Alonso

    Fran;
    After playing in cover bands and covering I already had the need to create my own songs. I already met a couple of musicians on the island and it was a matter of making a list and getting in touch with each one.

    And the good thing was that everyone signed up.

    The members of the Hackers gang are:

    Cesar Gonzales- bassist
    Victor Guardia-singer
    Paco Santana-drums
    Elvis Pescosa-keyboard

    “When we go into the studio we feel there is chemistry”

    • What is the dynamics in your rehearsal sessions?

    Fran Alonso-

    Although we really like fun, rehearsals are very strict.

    We have different types of rehearsals;

    Rehearsals prior to recording the album, because when you go to the studio you must have clear all your ideas and not waste the recording technician’s time and the rest.

    When the album is already recorded, the rehearsals are more fun because we focus on the concerts and that is to make the list of songs and practice like if we are plying live and then there are the rehearsals where we have to keep the repertoire we already have alive and be open to create new songs.

    • How is the process in writing new songs?

    At Hacker’s we have a very defined style and within that style we write our songs.
    There is no fixed method in composing new songs. The dynamics between us is very good, I can come to the studio with an idea and then the bass player adds another one and that’s how ideas are added.

    The musicians are very open and very humble with each other and not with the intention of showing something but open to create, is a team work. But if it is true that if someone has to take in the end a decision that is me, and I always tell them, trust me guys. (Laughs)

    There cannot be many captains on a ship.

    • Who writes the lyrics?

    The lyrics are exclusively written by our singer Victor Guardia.

    Depending on the type of melody that the song carries, it can inspire you to write about a certain type of theme and that is where I usually help Victor with that.

    Your new single “My sweet sentence” what is the song about it?
    About love, all of our themes are real and based in real live experiences, … not about me getting off from my limousine and going to my big chalet.

    I know you have fans in different parts of the world, tell me from where they follow?

    From many parts of the world like Peru where they send us videos of places where they play our songs.We have sent cd’s to Japan, France, England, Brazil and Chile.

    Thank you Fran for your time and wish you guys all the best.
