After three years, we are finally ready with Fallen Oracles, our “second son”.
The truth is that we made a mistake after the publication of our self-titled full length in November 2016: we stopped writing new material to perfect the old tracks.
Well, honestly it has partly been a good choice, because we had really positive feedbacks at every single live show we played… but soon we realized that something was missing, and “that something” was new music, a next step.
So we started writing new stuff, but we were “blocked”.
You know, every band lives strange moments, ups and downs and it’s just because of four different heads with four different ideas, living four different lifes, but inside of us we knew it was just a phase.
Fortunately we use to record every single rehearsal with a hq panoramic mic at the centre of the room. Playing twice a week, the amount of new riffs and atmospheres soon became huge, and it was a good thing.
We arranged all that stuff in one year and a half, until we decided it was ready to be recorded as a new album: our second album.
And we are so proud of it.
We hope that it will be appreciated as (and more) our first s/t did.
There are some differences between the two operas: you’ll probably notice a maturation on the groove and on the sound itself. There are more “clean and post-rocky” lines but we did not leave the old fatty, punchy and rugged soul that we use to call “Early Naat”.
Our focus was to keep the live show sonorities true to the original even on the album (and that’s why we recorded Fallen Oracles live in studio). We think it’s a good thing for the listeners.
Well we don’t know which band we are similar to. Some say Pelican and so on, and it’s a honor for us, but we really don’t care a lot about it… We just want to propose our music because it’s a visceral need we have. What we do is surely in part influenced by what everyone of us listens to, but we do not have any dogma and we hope you will appreciate it on the record!
